Twenty of our Under 12 Skryne players headed for Longford Slashers on Saturday 8 September for their final outing of the year. Skryne played Dromad, Longford Slashers, Portarlington and Corofin in both the A and B competitions. We were fourteen players short, so it looked as if Skryne would struggle. But fair play to all that traveled, as they did themselves and the club proud, especially the seven Under 10 lads. The B team won their 3 group games but tiredness set in and they lost their quarter final to Corofin, the same opponents for the A team who also lost their quarterfinal.
Many thanks to Longford for the invitation and congratulations on an excellently organised competition. A great day was had by all with the sun shining for once this summer.
