There was very poor visibility in Ratoath this morning with the fog, but that had no effect on our brilliant Under 6 team who never took their eyes off the ball! This was the last day of the season for Skryne and we fielded two teams against hosts Ratoath in this challenge game. Of course it’s non-competitive at this age but you wouldn’t think that to watch the determination in their faces as they blocked, passed and scored to make the most of their last day of Gaelic football this year. The team is almost unrecognisable from when they started seven months ago, and huge credit goes to Brian Smyth and John Wall for their dedication in training and developing this squad. Thanks also to the parents who help with training. It makes the job a lot easier for Brian and John. It will help the kids keep the skills up if they can practice at home during the winter, and we look forward to seeing them back again in the Spring.
