U14 Boys Championship

By Underage PRO Sun 20th May

The first round of the under 14 championship took place on Thursday evening in Ashbourne. The Skryne Div1 boys got off to a great start with Jason Reddy in top scoring front yet again. Ashbourne had no answer to Skryne’s attack and at half time Skryne were
in the lead 2:7 to Ashbourne 0:1. Skryne’s first-half scores came from Jason Reddy 2:3, Eoin Smyth 0:2 and Darragh Campion 0:2.
The second-half saw Ashbourne come back and take complete control of the game. Ashbourne found the Skryne net 4 times and with ten minutes to go they lead by a point. It was turning out to be a nightmare for Skryne but then in true Skryne fashion they settled down when Frank Carty hit the cross bar, Darren Fox was there to rattle the net. From there Skryne’s superior fitness showed and with Jason Reddy 0:2, Darren Fox 1:1 and Colm McLoughlin 0:1 in the second-half.
When the referee finally blew the whistle Skryne had won by 4 points. Skryne 3:11 Donaghmore/Ashbourne 4:4
