Hard luck to the boys U12’s today in the Newry Mitchels Tournament. They may have not won a Shield or Cup but they have pride, work ethic and determination. This is all down to the fantastic coaches and great players.
Skryne were unlucky not to be in the Cup Quarter Final only for score difference. They beat one of the favourites Wolfe Tones Bellaghy of Derry in the Rnd Robin games and lost to hosts Newry Mitchells. They won 2 from 3 and went onto the Quarter final of the Shield.
They were One point up at half time against O Donavan Rossa and maybe should have been more but lost out by Four to bow out of the Shield. There was bitter dissapointmemt for all the lads and parents but the kids represented themselves and the club with pride.
O Donavan Rossa of Derry went onto win the Shield against Castleknock of Dublin.
Wolfe Tones of Derry who Skryne had beaten went onto the Semi Final and after Extra time were beaten by the eventual winners of the cup.
We will upload some photos of the U12’s later on. There will be better days to come and the lads have a Semi Final and we wish them the best of luck.
