A large crowd of Liam Tolan’s friends joined with his family this evening as the new clubhouse home dressing room was named in honour and memory of Liam. Skryne GFC Chairman Dan O’Leary spoke of Liam’s great success with the club, as well as with Ashbourne Community College, and the Meath U16 and Minor teams. Seán Brennan, who was Liam’s manager at minor level, spoke on behalf of Liam’s former Skryne managers and mentors, remembering him fondly and and praising his attitude on the pitch. Fr. Thomas O’Mahony then blessed the plaque before Liam’s father unveiled it and named the home changing room the “Liam Tolan Room”. Finally, Fr. Thomas blessed the Liam Tolan room and the away changing room on the opposite side of the hall. Liam’s family were first to enter the new room, before the large crowd convened upstairs for refreshments.
