Tara Summer School
A small Summer festival has been arranged for the Skryne & the Tara area.
As this is the inaugural year for this festival it has been decided to keep it reasonably small and to grow it year after year. Events will include a guided tour of Dalgan Park Interpretive Centre which deals with the development of Columban Fathers foreign missions. Professor Conor Newman, NUI Galway will give a lecture in the RST centre on Tara/Skryne. There will be a hill to hill walk from Mrs Os, Hill of Skryne to Maguires, Hill of Tara, which works out at just over 5 km. A workshop on set dancing has been arranged for Saturday 4 July in Swans Oberstown and there will be a number of Trad. sessions in the various pubs over the weekend. The event will round off in Foxes on Sunday night with a harp music performance.
