It would be hard to say the game was played in ideal conditions when there was down pours of rain like that of the amazon jungle. It started during the warm up and about 10mins from the end of the game and the players and the ref handled the conditions well while everyone at Father Mc Manus Park was under the dug out or the Balcony. The Management also handled the elements well as they stood on the side line.
Oldcastle had only 11 players due to players away and on the other hand Skryne had 22 players. Due to Oldcastle only having 11 the pitch size was reduced. Skryne really got to grips of the game and started with a fantastic pace and defended well. Some well taken scores and good movement saw Skryne U14’s ahead by Six Points at half time in an entertaining game by both sides.

The second half started like that of the first and Skryne won the throw in and rattled off three early points. Skryne then rattled in there second goal to see Skryne widening the gap again It was time then to give some of the Subs a run and the lads kept the momentum going with some fine Points. Skryne went on to lead by Fourteen when Oldcastle went on the attack again to score a goal of there own. Oldcastle were not in Skryne for the fun and narrowed the gap after registering another goal from a penalty.
Both sides played really well considering the conditions in the later of the second half. It was played at a fast tempo and very little frees given away considering the conditions.
In the end the lads ran out winners with a 10 point lead.
