Well done to the Skryne U12s who played Duleek / Bellewstown in a Div 1 Summer League Semi Final at father Mc Manus Park. After Four weeks of dry weather that was soon to change. As we were used to temperatures of 26 / 27 degrees parents huddled under the dug out and in the balcony to shelter from the cold of 9 degrees and wet weather,.
It didn’t bother the kids one bit as they played to there full potential as they showcased an entertaining game from start to the finish. Some fantastic play from the defense, midfielders and Forwards to the pin point accuracy kick outs of the goal keepers. The Kick outs were as good as county players while the defenders overturned some play and broke it down. The midfielders covered every blade of grass. Credit has to go the the forwards as without even looking knew where the posts were everytime.
It was a joy to watch and both teams never gave up till the final whistle. Duleek / Bellewstown were not there for the fun of it nor were they going home without giving Skryne a tough game.
Well done to the U12’s and the management of Liam Hanley & Des Manning who are proud of there teams effort.
Next up is Dunderry on Saturday 4th of August at 2.00pm in Dunganny for the final of the U12’s Summer League.
Final Score
Skryne 32
Duleek / Bellewstown 14
