Skryne U10s hosted a blitz on Saturday 21st June. The participating clubs included Walterstown and Summerhill.
The U10s have been very active over the last few weeks, having already hosted a blitz in April the U10s have travelled to Moynalvey and Bohermeen for blitz days. On Saturday last Skryne hosted their 2nd blitz and the participating clubs included Walterstown and Summerhill. The lads have been playing really well. The blitz games are non-competitive and the emphasis is on improving their basis skills of catching, kicking, tackling, pick-up and soloing. With the excellent weather the lads were delighted to have the drinks and refreshments provided by the parents after the matches. The blitz programme will take a break in July with blitz days due to commence again in August.
In addition to the blitz days the U10s have also played games in the non-competitive Summerhill league. To- date the U10s have played Dunshaughlin, Trim, Dunboyne, Ballivor, Dunsany and Summerhill. These games will continue up to September when the finals day will take place at Summerhill.
The lads themselves are putting in a great effort at training and this is showing in their performances during the games. We would like to thank all of the parents especially for the help with the food and snacks for the two blitz days that we hosted in Skryne. Below are a selection of photos from the games:
