The Skryne U16 team won their first game in the Spring League tonight in a thrilling encounter against a very strong Dunshaughlin team on a score line of 2-10 to 1-8. Skryne started very brightly with some strong running from Jamsie Finnerty and good interplay from our forwards to go 2 points up after a few minutes, but Dunshaughlin came back to level it up fairly quickly. There was no quarter given or taking for the rest of the half in which the Skryne backs were superb. Skryne lead 6 points to 3 at half-time.
The second half was equally as compelling with the move of the match ending in a brilliant Robbie Clarke goal. Further points from Frankie Carty, Brian Clarke, Jarlath Jordan and a penalty from Jamsie Finnerty contributed towards a 5 point win for Skryne.
This was a brilliant performance from the whole panel tonight from front to the back. The U16s are now right back in contention in Division 1. Well done lads. ‘C’mon the Boys in Blue!!’
