Paul clears the way for Johnny

Skryne 4 – 12

Drumconrath 0 – 5

Played in Skryne on Tuesday evening this B League Div 5 tie ended with the home side well on top.  Four goals from Richie Greally, Shane Cunningham, Jamie Jordan and man of the match John Quinn were the highlights of the game.  Quinn playing at centre field dominated the match and finished with a personal tally of 1 – 3.  Skryne’s first goal came from a solo effort by Paul McGoldrick who carried the ball over sixty meters before slotting it past the helpless Drumconrath keeper.  However it was a further ten minutes before the next score was registered a point from Richie Greally.  The North Meath side did register the next score but it was the only time they troubled the umpire for the first half as Skryne went on to post a further 1 – 6 before the break.  Jamie Jordan scored the next two points before Drumconrath enjoyed a small purple patch between the 36th and 38 th minute scoring two points in succession.  However with the Skryne backs playing well as a unit, particularly David Harrington at full back, there was no way through for the goal they needed to give them a chance of competing.  A third goal for Skryne from Jordan steadied the Tara men who went on to score a further goal and three points before the final whistle.
