Two goals from Jamie Jordan and another from Darren Carty for Skryne, should have seen this Div 5 tie comfortably over by half time. In fact it was as Skryne, playing with home advantage, went into the break on a scoreline of 3 – 5 to 0 – 1. However nobody told the Longwood men and they produced a superb performance in the second half only to be beaten by the clock. Longwood scored 2 – 9 to Skryne’s 1 -4 in the second period and while finishing the stronger were unlucky not to take at least a share of the spoils at the end. Indeed had it not been for a superb third goal from man of the match Jamie Jordan, who scored a total of 3 – 2, there is no doubt that Longwood would have won.
