Skryne travelled to Simonstown of Friday night for the first round of the B League division 1 but were comprehensively beating by the home side who start the competition with full points. While the play in this game was fairly evenly contested by both sides the inability of the Skryne team to convert opportunities into scores was the main differences between the sides. The half time score showed Simonstown with a commanding lead of 0 – 10 to 0 – 4 but this should have been much closer as missed opportunities, or indeed efforts which dropped short which resulted in a score at the opposite end, allowed for the creation of the wide margin between the two teams.
Skryne introduced a number of substitutes in the second half but only managed to add a further three points to their tally while Simonstown went on to add a further 1 – 6 to theirs. The goal coming on 57 minutes was just the icing on the cake as the match was well won by the home by then.
