Skryne GFC Committee members Dermot Carty and Joe O’Brien were instrumental in driving the project to open a Memorial Garden to remember all deceased members of Skryne GFC especially those ‘Who have left us far too soon’. The memorial lists the names of local people under the age of 40 who have sadly passed away. Today Dermot and Joe unveiled the Memorial Stone and plaques which are located in the garden beneath our Centenary tree beside the entrance to Skryne GFC. A big thank you to all of the family members who gathered to remember their loved ones at today’s ceremony.

A huge thanks to all who worked so hard to make this happen especially Jimmy Gibbons, Jimmy Shorten, Patrick McGoldrick and Seamus O’Kane.
After the plaques were unveiled, Fr. Thomas O’Mahony blessed the Memorial Garden and plaques and commemorated all who have passed on especially those aged under 40 who are listed on the plaques.
There were a number of people who contributed funds towards this project. A big thank you to all especially our main sponsor Meath County Council through our local Councillor Suzanne Jamal.
Thank you also for our musicians who really added to the occasion.
