Skryne GFC made a return to the beautiful Parkland course at Royal Tara Golf Club this year for our 27th Annual Golf Classic on the longest day of the year. A total of 41 teams entered the Golf Classic with 39 playing on the day.
Former Chairman Seán Curry had a big task on hand as the assigned starter to ensure that all teams made it to the tee box at the appointed tee-time, but as usual Seán kept things moving smoothly throughout the day.
A special thanks to all the staff and management at Royal Tara Golf Club who were excellent hosts.
Our golfers were welcomed by our fantastic team at the registration desk and were briefed on the format of the competition and issued with their scorecards.
All golfers received a goodie bag before they teed off. A big thanks to 2 of our sponsors Paddy Battersby and Irish Distillers for donating the contents of the goodie bag, a banana, bottle of water, a Nature Plus bar and a miniature bottle of Jameson whiskey!
To make sure nobody went hungry or thirsty, our trusty team of volunteers served up delicious barbecued burgers donated by Kepak and a beer at the 9th hole to make sure the golfers had plenty of fuel on board for the final push to the 18th hole.
