Skryne are under 15 seven a side champions
On a showery day in Dunganny – Skryne were crowned Meath’s first Under 15 seven a side champions.
This team proved they were worthy winners of last year’s U14 seven a side final & were victorious in all 5 matches they competed in on the day.
They topped their qualification group by defeating St. Vincent’s Curraha in their opening match by 13 points to 7 and then accounted for Moynalty by 13 points to 5. In their final group match, after a shaky start Skryne defeated Brú na Boinne by 18 points to 7.
It was then on to the semi-final where stiffer opposition was provided by St. Cuthberts, but Skryne were up to the challenge and emerged victorious by 9 points to 6.
In the final Skryne’s opposition were near neigbours, Dunshaughlin. This match was nip and tuck the whole way through but Skryne always kept their noses in front and after some nervous moments near the finish Skryne were crowned Meath U15 Champions on a winning score line of 11 points to 9.
Skryne panel members were: Sean Cassidy, Paddy Carpenter, Enda Byrne, Barry Clarke, Paddy Doherty, Andrew Hayes, Jason Fox, Timmy Lennon, John Morley, Cathal Murphy, Dean Reddy and Jason Reddy.
