A minutes silence was held this evenings game for Jim Condra who was Chairman of Co Na Nog and will be sadly meet. Both Donaghmore Ashbourne GAA & Skryne met in the middle of the pitch and paused for a minutes silence,
The game took place in Father Mc Manus Park this evening on a summers evening. After the minutes silence both panels of players went to there pitches to resume the game. Donaghmore Ashbourne started off the brighter on both sides and took some fine scores. Skryne were up against. Skryne defended as well as they could and also had some fine scores but really battled hard for every score.
Half time couldnt come quick enough and Johnny Quinn & Des Manning had to settle both camps with a few words of wisdom in the young guns ears. Skryne were down by Nine Points.
What was said at half time certainly worked as both teams came out of the traps like rockets. Skryne picked away with every score and were first to every ball. No ball was given away and there was plenty of turn overs and possession won.
Skryne were on the come back of all come backs. With the clock ticking down Skryne were ahead by three points. Great credit has to go to both teams who showed a great display of point taking & blocking.
The referees had a fantastic game and credit has to go to both sides as they were instructed on what they had done wrong and the lads all listened. Respect for the referees should always be the case and this game showed exactly how it should be done on the night that was in it.
There were so many fantastic play form Skryne from the goalie, defense, midfield and the forwards.
Well done to the Managers, Players and also our condolences to the Condra family in these tough times,
Final Score
