Three late points by Summerhill saw them take maximum points in this B league, Div 1 tie at Skryne on Tuesday evening. While Summerhill were first of the mark with a point in the first minute, a goal and a point from Jamie Jordan, along with a point each from Adam O’Sullivan and John Quinn put Skryne into a good lead of 1 – 03 to a 0 – 01 after ten minutes. Summerhill scored again on eleven minutes but Ronan McCabe was twice on target for Skryne. Summerhill brought the difference back to two points with four consecutive points before John Quinn and Des McAviney were on target again for the Tara men. However it was Summerhill who closed out the half with two more points to make the score at the break Skryne 1 – 07, Summerhill 0 – 08.
Summerhill scored the first three points of the second half putting them a point to the good on 40 minutes. Jordan and Quinn were again on target for Skryne to put them back on top with ten minutes left to play. However it was Summerhill who got those final three points and took the spoils on the night on a scoreline of Summerhill 0 – 14; Skryne 1 – 09.
