Today was the last day of the season for the U8’s from the boys and girls sides of the club. Great progress has been made through the season. There have been lots of matches, between Go-Games blitzes, Summerhill League, and plenty of challenge games in between. Next year many will move up to the U10 squad, with the younger ones continuing their development at U8 level.
It is critical for the club, both mens and ladies sides, that we are able to maintain good facilities for the children. We are a voluntary organisation. The coaches all give their time freely, but it does cost money to keep the club running, properly maintained, and create additional facilities which will help the children develop their skills in a safe environment. You should all by now have heard about the Red or Black fundraising event which takes place on the Halloween Bank Holiday Weekend. This is our main fundraiser for the year (there will be no Mr & Mrs this year), and the ticket sales are needed urgently to continue the development of our club. Please support us by purchasing tickets prior to the event (door sales on the night are much less beneficial to us). Tickets are available from all underage managers, senior players, and committee members. Every ticket gives you a chance of winning up to €5000 on the night, even if you cannot attend. But we are hoping as many of you as possible will be there on the night as it is going to be a night of hilarious entertainment, and it’s good for us all to have a night out to finish off the year in high spirits!
Below are some photos from the U8’s in action today at their last day of training for the season at Fr McManus Park. Thanks for all your support throughout the year, and we look forward to seeing you all back in the Spring.
