Na Fianna claim Junior D title but Skryne will be back
Kepak Ladies Junior D Football Championship
It was another fantastic year for Skryne ladies who again were able to field two championship teams. This, in itself is a fantastic achievement and shows that the future of ladies’ football is in safe hands. The championship started in what can only be described as an interesting style against Ratoath – they were very slow to start resulting in being 16 points down at half-time but in true Skryne style, they never gave up and turned the game around and won by 4. They next faced Carnaross in which they again fought to the end and came out with a one-point win. In round 3 they faced a strong Rathkenny side again coming out with a one-point win which booked a spot in the semi-final against Bective. It was a tight game that went down to the wire and the girls again came back and won by a point with the final kick of the ball. Unfortunately, the girls fell at the final hurdle against an extremely experienced and strong Na Fianna team. The girls will be back bigger and stronger next year. A big thank you to all.
