Dunshaughlin 1-16 Skryne 1-12
U16 Football Summer League, Division 2 – Round 4
Skryne were beaten tonight in a tightly fought summer league match by Dunshaughlin on a scoreline of 1-16 to 1-12. Skryne got off to a flier scoring 1-4 in the first 15 mins with our goal coming from Quinner. Then we backed off and let Dunshaughlin back into it with some soft scores from frees and at half time we found ourselves two points down 1-9 to 1-7.
The second half was nip and tuck but Dunshaughlin managed to extend their lead to 5 points at the half way stage. All credit to the lads who kept on pushing and managed to narrow the lead to 3 points. That was as close as it got as Skryne struggled to break down a stubborn Dunshaughlin defence, thanks mainly to the efforts of their goalkeeper.
Skryne could also have suffered a worse fate but for some fine saves by James Keane near the end. Skryne kept trying right until the end but just couldn’t get the scores and ended up losing by 4 points. Great effort by the lads.

Liam came on for Shane just before half time and Shane came on for Brian with 10 min’s left.
