Third Win for Skryne’s 3rds
Skryne 2-14, Clann na nGael 3-07
B League Division 3 – Round 3
Skryne’s third team made it three wins from three games when they defeated Clann na nGael in Skryne on Tuesday evening. In ideal conditions for football Clann na nGael began the match at a hectic pace and had Skryne in trouble very early on. They led by 2-01 to no score after six and a half minutes. But that was as good as it got for the men from Athboy in this half as the Blues reeled off ten points without reply. This left the score at half time Skryne 0-10 Clanna Gael 2-01.

Dermot Brennan opened the scoring for Skryne in the second period but then it was Clann na nGaels turn to take over and score 1-02 very quickly to go from four points behind to lead by one point. It was nip and tuck from then to the final whistle and it took a fine goal from midfielder David McGoldrick to sway the tide in Skryne’s favour.
This was a closely fought game where both teams made mistakes but also had some very good passages of play. Overall Skryne just about deserved the win which keeps their unbeaten run going.
