Victory for Dunboyne

Dunboyne overcame Skryne in this B League Division 1 clash in Dunboyne tonight. The basis for this victory was two early second half goals from which Skryne never recovered.
Dunboyne had led at half time by 1-6 to 0-6 and even though Niall Morley scored the first point of the second period for Skryne the Dublin border side replied with two QuickFire goals to leave eight points between the sides. Skryne did fight bravely after this bodyblow and their best player Frank Carty got them back on track with a great goal after some excellent teamwork from David McGoldrick David Lynch and Oisin Gryson. There was also good displays from Barry Clarke, Michael Doherty and Robbie Clarke before he retired injured. Niall Morley chipped in with five points – four from play – to keep the Blues in contention until another Dunboyne goal sealed victory for them.

Dunboyne certainly deserved their win as they were on top from the start and had Skryne in trouble with their darting runs and overlapping play throughout the match. Skryne tried hard but overall the concession of four goals proved to be their downfall.
