Skryne’s Poor Performance in B League

Skryne’s second string were well beaten in this B League Div. 1 match played in ideal conditions in Skryne on Tuesday night. This was their worst performance for a long time and leaves them dangerously close to the relegation zone. Although short a number of players through injury and other reasons, there were no positives to take from this game.

Wolfe Tones began the game well and scored first, Skryne then missed a goal chance before the Tones added three more points and led by 4 points to 1 after ten minutes. The Blues then played their best football of the match and seemed to be well in contention with the score at 8 points to 6 coming close to half time. But the game was as good as over when Wolfe Tones added their 2 goals just before the break and led by 8 points, 2-8 to 0-6.

The second half was one way traffic towards the Skryne goals at the road end the Kilberry men outscored the Blues by 10 points to 4 to leave the final score 2-18 to 0-10.
There were some reasonable performances from too few Skryne players but overall this was a night and a match to forget.
