Skryne 4-14 Seneschalstown 2-12
B League Division 1 – Round 5
Skryne overcame Seneschalstown in this B League Div 1 match played in favourable conditions in Skryne on Sunday last. The match was a tame affair with both sides short a number of players. Having said that both sides served up some good football with Skryne using the wind to their advantage in the first half to lead at the break by 3-8 to 1-4.
This suggests that the game was as good as over at half time but Seneschalstown to their credit attacked very well when they had the use of the elements in the second half. They closed the gap considerably and in fact scored more than Skryne in this period.
Skryne had excellent performers in Aidan Tuite and Paddy Doherty who controlled the game at midfield while the defence as a unit were on top for most of the match. As usual it’s the forwards that get all the attention and so Declan Mulvey and Conor Keogh caught the eye in this area. There was a man of the match performance from Felim O’Rourke and he obviously enjoyed playing out the field for a change scoring 3-6 into the bargain.
