A League Division 2 – Round 7

Skryne were much too strong for a weakened Ballinlough team who were short of numbers and also had two players sent off – one Black card and one red card. Overall these cards had no bearing on the end result of this A League Division 2 match and Skryne were on top from the very first whistle.

Playing towards the scoreboard end in the first half on a bitterly cold evening Skryne led by 0-10 to 0-02 at half time and the match as a contest was as good as over at this stage.

It’s difficult to estimate the value of this win for Skryne as Ballinlough are obviously struggling at this level. What the victory does bring to the Blues is a major improvement in their score difference. Only two points of their big total came from frees. There will be much more difficult games to come.
