Having suffered defeat in their last two games Skryne came good at home to Duleek Bellewstown with a 5 – 12 to 1 – 7 win in the B league Division 1 match on Sunday afternoon. Playing at full forward, Ronan McCabe got the home side of the mark with a point in the first minute. D/B levelled the match a minute later but Paddy Doherty and Sean Cassidy pushed the home side two ahead after six minutes. Two consecutive points from the visitors had the scores level with ten minutes on the clock but when Mark Jordan hammered home a penalty on fifteen minutes Skryne took control of the game from there until the end. Further points from Neill Burke and Ronan McCabe and a goal from Centre–half-back, Declan Morley to a single other point from D/B left the half time score at Skryne 2 -5, D/B 0 – 4.
Duleek/Bellewstown were first of the mark in the second half with another point but Mark Jordan, and Ronan McCabe posted a further three point by the thirty third minute. The visitors were again on target on thirty five minutes but in a fifteen minute spell the Skryne men scored a further 2 – 4 from to leave the score with six minutes left to play Skryne 4 – 12; D/B 0 – 6. D/B did manage a further goal and a point but John Morley scored another goal for Skryne. The full tine score was Skryne 5 – 12, Duleek Bellewstown 1 – 7.
