Lacking a number of players who were kept in reserve for the weekend senior championship game, and minors who were otherwise engaged in a friendly, Skryne were always going to struggle in this B league match played in Ashbourne on Monday evening. However, given that Donaghmore /Ashbourne played their strongest possible side, which included the bulk of their Intermediate championship team, Skryne played a very competitive game but lacked a number of sharpshooters who might have gotten the few scores that would have made a difference. While the result of the game was never in doubt from early on, three goals at the end of the game gave a score-line which did not reflected the effort of the players on the field.
