Skryne’s Gaelic Mothers and Others were the star attraction at today’s RST Community Field Day. Sporting brand new jerseys sponsored by Siobhán Daly Designs, the girls looked really up for it as they faced off against neighbours Slane.
The game was somewhat of an arm-wrestle with the Boynesiders more efficient in front of the posts. However, despite a 2 point deficit with the game edging into injury time, Skryne snatched victory from the jaws of defeat when a speculative shot from Jenny Tobin looked to be drifting left and wide, when suddenly the fist of Ciara Reuter sprung up into the air, connecting perfectly with the ball and directing it to the back of the Slane net. The crowd roared with approval as the final whistle blew to signal a first victory for our amazing Mammys and Others! Well done girls and commiserations to our valiant opponents. No doubt we will meet again!
