The 2013 season is continuing for the U10s. The lads have continued
training on a weekly basis while participating in the Meath County
Blitz programme and the non competitive Summerhill Tournament. With a
panel of 35 players there has been an excellent turnout at each
training session. The focus on training has very much been on
developing and improving the basic skills; kicking, catching,
tackling, pick up, solo and scoring. The excellent weather and
sunshine over the last few weeks has seen everyone arrive at training
with a smile on their face and once the water bottles are at hand
everyone heads home happy. To date we have participated in Blitz Days
in Dungany, Dunboyne, Walterstown, Summerhill. We successfully hosted
a Blitz in Skryne in April. We have had at least two squads at each
blitz, play three games each.
The next phase of blitz days has us grouped with Seneschalstown, Gael
Colmcille and Walterstown.
In the Summerhill Tournament games are played on a home and away
basis. In the 1st phase we have played away games against Ratoath,
Trim, Na Fianna, Dunboyne and Blackhall Gaels. We played Dunshaughlin
in Skryne and have games against Summerhill and Dunsany at home over
the coming weeks. The tournament will continue up to September when
the finals day takes place in Summerhill on All Ireland weekend.
The lads themselves are putting in a great effort at training and this
is showing in their performances during the games. We would like to
thank all of the parents for the continued support, assistance and
most of all their encouragement
We will add further updates as the season progresses
