Summerhill 0-14
Skryne 0-8
Skryne’s run in the Feis cup came to an end Monday evening when Summerhill, playing at home, defeated them.
Skryne played without Paddy O’Rourke or Ciaran Lenihan who are part of the Meath contingent for next Saturday’s game. The game was played in an almost continuous torrential downpour and undoubtedly had these conditions happened in the run-up to throw-in, then it would have been abandoned.
Despite the appalling conditions both sides served up an entertaining game and the Summerhill side outscored Skryne by fourteen points to eight. Both of these teams had two other games within the previous eight days.
The game itself was finely balanced at half-time, with Summerhill holding a two point lead of six points to four. However they posted a further eight to Skryne’s four in the second half leaving the full-time score at Summerhill 0 – 14, Skryne 0 – 8.
