Both points were secured with a strong performance over Wolfe Tones in the B League Div 1 encounter in Skryne on Monday evening. Skryne were first to trouble the score keeper with a point from a 50 mtr free that man-of-the-match Brian Davis put over after only 30 seconds. By half time the Tara men were 1 – 7 to 0 – 3 ahead with scores coming from Davis (2), Brian Smith (1-1) Conor Keogh (2),Adam O Sullivan and John Morley.
Skryne went further ahead with a point from Stephen O’ Brien on 36 minutes. A minute later the Oristown side got themselves back in the game with a well taken goal but that was as good as it got as they posted only one further point at the three quarter stage and despite valiant efforts received no further joy on the score board . However, Skryne countered that goal within a minute with a blistering shot from John Morley. Further points were also posted by Davis, Smith, Keogh, O’Sullivan (2) and substitute Jamie Jordan (2). Skryne ran out convincing winners on a score line of Skryne 2 – 15, Wolfe Tones 1 – 4
