Skryne finished comfortable five point winners in this U17 encounter played under lights in Skryne last night (Wed 19th).
The home side dominated opening half exchanges and probably should have been further ahead than the half time score line of Skryne 0-09 to Dunboyne’s 0-03
Skryne did not have it all their own way and were in for a testing spell as Dunboyne cranked up the pressure after the break to dominate a large portion of the second half, closing the gap to within two points of Skryne.
However Dunboyne were always playing catch up to the home side and when Skryne re-emerged from their second half barren spell they quickly added a couple of more scores to once again put a comfortable margin between themselves and Dunboyne. The points were effectively secure after Skryne scored a goal with a little more than 5 minutes to go.
Dunboyne however never gave up and were awarded a penalty for their efforts in the dying minutes of the half which was converted at the second attempt after it was saved on the line by Oisin Gryson in the Skryne goal. However it was a bridge too far for Dunboyne as Skryne ran out worthy five point winners.
