Skryne 3 – 9; Drumbaragh 0 – 12
Three goals from Shane Cunningham, Jamie Jordan and Des McAvinney saw Skryne take the points against Drumbaragh on Monday evening. Drumbaragh playing at home in this Div 5 B league were first of the mark and were three points to the good after seven minutes. Skryne’s Shane Cunningham then struck for the first of Skryne’s goals and when John Quinn pointed on eleven minutes the Tara men were never led again in this match. Jamie Jordan goaled again for Skryne on 20 minutes to make the score 2 – 2 to 4 points. The half time score was Skryne 2 – 5; Drumbaragh 0 – 6.
The first twenty minutes of the second half were more competitive with Drumbaragh scoring four points to Skryne’s two to reduce the lead to just three points. However Cyril Carty scored his third point of the evening and Des McAvinney hit the net for their third goal the match was more or less over as a contest. Drumbaragh did post two more points but John Quinn had the final point with time up on the clock. The final score was Skryne 3 – 9; Drumbaragh 0 – 12.
