St.Patrick’s 2-11
Skyne 1-02
A lackluster Skryne display saw them well beaten by St. Patricks, in the windswept new pitch in Stamullen. While the strong cross-field wind did spoil a number of the early chances that Skryne got, it didn’t seem to impede the efforts of the home side especially in the second half. Stamullen got an early penalty which saw them 1 – 1 to nil ahead after 14 minutes. They added two more before the half while Skryne were confined to a single point from the boot of Paddy O’ Rourke.
In the second half St Patrick’s scored a further 1 – 4 before Paddy O’Rourke gave them a glimmer of a chance with a well taken goal leaving the score at 2 – 7 to 1 – 1 in favour of the east Meath side. With 46 minutes gone in the match. However it was St. Patrick’s who pushed on with three more points before an injure time point from O’Rourke again completed the scoring. This was a good performance from St. Patrick’s but it has left the Tara men with a lot of work to do.
