The sky maybe have been blue but the grass was certainly green and this is where Meath football will stem from. What a performance by the Meath U17s in Drogheda today in the Leinster U17s Championship final against Dublin. It had everything that Meath football always has and that is work ethic. There was some fantastic fielding by Cian Mc Bride from St Cuthberts along with the Forwards of Shane Walsh of Na Fianna Gaa Meath along with Jordan Morris of Nobber GFC and Aaron Lynch of of Trim playing well and credit also has to go to the defense side in fact there were plenty of great play from the subs along with One to Fifteen. Colm Doherty of Skryne did not disappoint either with his work rate and and turn overs Colm gave it everything. There was plenty of work rate on and off the ball and well done Colm. All in Skryne GFC are proud of your performance in the Green & Gold. Its a proud day for the Doherty family.
There was nothing in it at half time but Meath really sprung from the traps in the second half and with Dublin having made at least 12 changes from the previous game in Pairc Tailteann this made no difference to Meath who were by far the better side.
Congratulations to the Meath panel and players and also Colm Doherty who represented Skryne with pride.
Its a proud day for Meath GAA.
