Rathkenny Too Strong for Skryne
Rathkenny 3-13 Skryne 0-7
B League Division 3 – Round 6
Rathkenny proved much too strong for Skryne in this B League Division 3 match played in Rathkenny this evening (Monday).
Once again Skryne were short a number of regulars for this match – Oisin Gryson and Colm Craigie (both injured) David Carroll (holidays) Cian Lynch (working) and Vinny and Kevin O’Reilly (unavailable) – any of these players could certainly have made a difference to the result.
Allowing for that Rathkenny played some lovely football and certainly deserved their victory. They were physically stronger than Skryne and dominated from start to finish. They led at half time by 2-8 to 0-4.

This was Skryne’s first defeat in this grade and maybe the score was a little unfair to them. Even though they were well beaten, one of the first half goals was of the very soft variety and the second half goal came with the last kick of the game after a mix-up in the Skryne defence. So at least they made a good effort and were competitive throughout the match.
Skryne – James Keane. Jack Conroy, Andrew Moore, Paddy O’Leary. Gordon Geraghty, Martin Mulvaney, Kieran O’Rourke. Keith Donoghue, Darren Fox (0-1). John Quinn, Ciaran Finnerty, Sean Cassidy. Felim O’Rourke (0-3), Brian Smyth (0-2), Colm McLoughlin (0-1).
Subs – Sean Byrne and Eddie Dunne.
