The 2012 football season for Skryne Under 8s is up and running. Training commenced on March 04th. This grade caters for children born in 2004 and 2005. Training takes place on Friday evenings between 6.15 – 7.30pm on the main pitch.
While there are no competitions at this level, Meath GAA have organised a programme of 10 Blitz Days throughout the year. These blitz days typically consist of short 20 min games, with team size between 7-9 players. The emphasis is on participation and skills development. A policy of everyone plays is in place and players rotate their positions from backs to forward and vice versa during matches. The aims of these Blitz days are to develop the basic skills of the game, ensure participation for all and most importantly ensure the kids enjoy playing Gaelic Football.
The first Blitz Day will be on Saturday March 24th in Dunganny, Trim Road. Navan.
