Skryne defeated Oldcastle in the All County Football A League Division 1in Oldcastle on Saturday night by a scoreline of 1 – 14 to 0 – 12. Played under lights this was a very competitive and entertaining match. The first half was very close and only the minimum seperated the sides at the break with Skryne leading by 5pts to Oldcastles 4. The second half was only seconds old when Oldcastle equalised. It was very much tit for tat for the third quarter until David Ryan kicked a lomg speculative shot into the Oldcastle square which bounced into the top corner of the net. Oldcastle however were not finished and scored four points without reply. But in injury time Skryne added two more to leave the final score at 1 – 14 to 0 – 12.
