The presentation of winners medals was made at a function in the Snail-Box on Friday the 17th February, to Skryne club members who won the Men’s Reserve League and the Lady’s Shield competitions in 2011. The men’s team received their medals from Skryne manager Barney Rock and the ladies were presented with their medals by Lady’s Chairperson Mary Ryan.
The award for Junior Player of the Year went to Gordon Geraghty and he was was presented with his trophy by Chairman Dan O’Leary. The Paddy Brown Perpetual Trophy was presented by the late club member’s mother Mrs. Johanna Brown, to the winner of “Club Player of the Year” Martin Mulvany. Martin was the popular choice of all the adult players.
Gillian O’Sullivan received the “Ladies Player of the Year” award, having had an outstanding year. Brian Smyth, captain of the reserve team, presented club Physio Lily Fox with a bouquet of flowers in recognition of all the good work done for the adult mens teams both at matches and training.
Music for the occasion was provided by the band Rubber Duck. This was a very successfull function which was well organised and well supported by the club membership.
