After suffering a round 2 defeat to neighbours Seneschalstown Skryne got their hoganstand.com Meath SFC Group A campaign back on track with this hard fought narrow win over Ballinlough in ideal conditions at Lomans Park Trim.
The Tara men got the perfect start when Bryan Davis got in for a goal but by the 20th minute Ballinlough worked their way back in to the game to level matters 1-01 to 0-04. Paddy O’Rourke pointed from a free but the North Meath club went in at the break 0-06 to 1-02 in front.

Again Skryne made a blistering start and got their second goal through Mark Battersby in the opening minute of the second half. Points from O’Rourke and Conor O’Brien had Skryne 2 to the good 2-04 to 0-08 midway through the half. But on the 17th minute Skryne found themselves behind when Mark McCullen netted for the Red and Whites.
With eight minutes left on the clock Ballinlough were ahead 1-10 to 2-05 but it was Skryne who finished the stronger and points from O’Rourke, Eoin Smyth (2) and Battersby gave them a much needed two point win.
Up next for the winners is a round 4 clash with Gaeil Colmcille while Ballinlough take on Rathkenny.
